THE ADDAMS FAMILY #1 musical and CLUE ON STAGE #1 play! AGAIN!
THE ADDAMS FAMILY returns to the #1 most performed full length musical again this year. A clear high school favourite in the US is also one of our region's most popular high school musicals too!
"The Addams Family musical has always been about one thing: family. From our families we learn about love, loss, joy, heartbreak, and all the feelings and fuzziness in the world. The family Addams are, like I wish all families were, embracing of change, welcoming of the stranger, deeply curious about everything and everybody, and filled with unbounded love. It's these qualities that have kept our musical at the top of the list of most-produced high school musicals in America year after year. When you're an Addams, you express your love to the fullest."
-- Andrew Lippa, Composer/Lyricist
Adapted from the iconic Nickelodeon series, THE SPONGEBOB MUSICAL makes the top ten again and growing in popularity CHICAGO: TEEN EDITION appears for the first time in the top ten list.
Following the success of THE ADDAMS FAMILY full length musical in the survey, THE ADDAMS FAMILY YOUNG@PART has made the top 10 list of most performed short musicals for the first time!
CLUE retains the #1 full length play for the fourth year running followed by the very popular PUFFS in #2. Other repeat full length play favourites are RADIUM GIRLS, SHE KILLS MONSTERS (YOUNG ADVENTURER'S EDITION), ALICE IN WONDERLAND and the Reginald Rose classic, 12 ANGRY JURORS. Thornton Wilder's OUR TOWN just missed out on the top 10 this year after placing on almost every list since its inception in 1938!
Playwright Don Zolidis continues to dominate the most-produced short plays with five of his works to make the list this year. The most popular being 10 WAYS TO SURVIVE THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE tying with Jonathan Rand's CHECK PLEASE for the top spot. Ian McWethy takes three of the spots with BAD AUDITIONS BY BAD ACTORS the highest in the list at spot #4.
