    CHARLIE SHELBY - 8-10; loves karate; cab be played by a boy or a girl. For a boy, full name is Charles Shelby. For a girl, full name is Charlotte Shelby.
    PETE DUMBOWSKI - 35; a dentist; in the midst of a year-long divorce. Julia's younger brother.
    J.D. CUSIMANO - 40; runs his family's florist shop; loves the New York Jets.
    ALISON CUSIMANO - 38; a lawyer; 8 months into a rather unexpected pregnancy and despite all her complaining, loving every minute of it.
