The weather outside is atrocious and when wife and mother, Margaret, comes home - the only member of the family actually earning a wage - she is disappointed to discover that her yoga class has been cancelled because the hall is flooded. Then, Colin and Jason are devastated by a sudden power cut, which means that they can't watch television or listen to music.
The family are faced with talking to each other - something that they obviously have not done for a long time. The consequences are dramatic.
