From that innocent premise, Special Class explores the dreams and disappointments of a disabled child in our society. The text also includes informative notes on the original rehearsal process. The notes prove to be helpful both in preparing performers to portray characters with disabilities and in describing how standard acting exercises may be adapted for the performer with a disability.
