REVIEWS:

"Insightful... exposes one to the raw nerves struck by the specter of impending matrimony... Illuminates the tenuous Achilles tendons attached to the structure of marriage flayed bare by verbal surgical strikes of crisp dialogue... highly recommended for those considering the pros and cons of a trip down the aisle and what being a couple means in a post-feminist, pre-marital conundrum."

NYC Reviews (Reviewed by Aziz Rahman)

"A small, intimate play that remains full of substance without any over-arching socio-political agendas... blends the highly comic with the more dramatic elements of Amy and Sean's fighting with aplomb... Hearse makes its case not only for the costs and benefits of marriage, but also for an overlooked theatrical subgenre... Morillo proves that smart comedy is alive and well."

 Offoffonline.com (Reviewed by Doug Strassler)

"Morillo expertly preserved the fine balanced in the script between pain and tenderness, without ever forsaking levity. It does not necessarily end the way an audience might think it would. This was truly an exqusite piece of theater."

  • Casting: 1M, 1F

  • SEAN - Late twenties, handsome, with short, dark hair. Despite his slightly smarmy demeanor, he is very appealing in a boy-next-door kind of way. He is kind of a neat freak and has a tendency to clean up after Amy when he gets frustrated.
  • AMY - Mid-twenties, very pretty with long flowing brown hair and an approachable beauty. She has a cute/sexy way about her despite her slightly neurotic, boundless energy. She is kind of a slob. She leave her clothes, shoes, jewelry and coats everywhere.
