Stephen and Claire move in to a run-down cottage belonging to Stephen's family. They soon discover that a previous tenant, as artist, was killed near by and two of his fingers were cut off. They then discover the body of a squatter, also an artist missing fingers, in the next cottage.
Claire, a sculptress herself, begins to fear for her safety -- egged on by her friend, Mitch, a writer of detective novels! Tensions rise, fuelled by the mystery surrounding Stephen's sister and her son who live locally and demand Stephen's constant attention.
