ORiGiN™ Theatrical was created in 2004 with the appointment of Kim Ransley (formerly of Warner/Chappell Music Australia) as ORiGiN™ Theatrical’s Managing Director and the establishment of the exclusive representation of theatrical rights to the Rodgers & Hammerstein and Really Useful Group catalogues.

Philip C Walker
Philip Walker is Chairman of the Sago Group and the Origin Music Group. Until 2022 he was a non-executive Director of the Australasian Music Publishers' Association Limited (AMPAL) for 21 years, the Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners' Society Limited (AMCOS) for 21 years and the Australasian Performing Right Association (APRA) for 9 years. He has a Bachelor of Business degree from the University of Technology and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. He has previously served as a Director and Honorary Treasurer of the Craft Council of New South Wales and was in practice as a Chartered Accountant, Auditor and Tax Agent from 1980 - 1998. Philip is an enthusiastic supporter of charity and non-profit organizations.
Philip is known as a music industry accounting specialist and has conducted audits and valuations in the music industry over the last 40 years.
He is a keen supporter of many charitable organisations working with young people.
Philip Mortlock
Joined Philip Walker in 1993 after working at Warner Music (WEA) for close to 17 years, mainly working with the Australian artists in A & R and marketing. Philip has held industry positions as a director on the board of ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Association), AIR (Australian Independent Recording Association), a member of the Music Council of Australia and the National Film and Sound Archives. During Philip Mortlock’s career in the music industry he has been responsible for many major Australian artists as either a music publisher or record company executive, some of which include INXS, Cold Chisel, Richard Clapton, Gotye, Meg Washington, The Basics and many more.
Kim Ransley – Managing Director, ORiGiN Theatrical
Kim initially worked in and later ran the Warner/Chappell theatrical division over a period of thirteen years. Well known within the industry, Kim understands the necessity of building relationships within this unique industry. Arriving at WCM from a four-year stint at EMI Music Publishing with Print Music experience as well as the very demanding role of PA to the Managing Director. More importantly, Kim has an incredibly vast knowledge and passion for theatre, music and entertainment in general which reflects in her dealings with our theatrical clients with over 37 years’ experience in theatrical licensing in Australasia.
The ORiGiN Music Group employed former Warner/Chappell Theatrical manager Kim Ransley to manage the newly established division ORiGiN Theatrical in August 2004. Since joining ORiGiN Theatrical Kim has successfully launched the Amateur rights in Australia and New Zealand of The Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Shout! The Legend of the Wild One, Buddy Holly Story, Dusty the Original Pop Diva, Strictly Ballroom The Musical and Priscilla Queen of the Desert and Six the Musical.
Scott Bell – Group Finance Director, ORiGiN Music Group
Scott has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia for over 30 years. Together with a strong accounting and taxation compliance knowledge he has extensive experience in royalty accounting during the twenty years working for the Sago and ORiGiN group of companies. Scott oversees all business operations, financial and royalty aspects of ORiGiN Theatrical.
Megan Turner – Royalties Manager, ORiGiN Music Group
Megan has 20 years of entertainment royalty, music licensing and asset management experience having worked at many independent and major music companies in both Australia and in the US. Her tenure in rights management has led to her passions in analytics, workflow and problem solving. She understands the value in harnessing the information at our fingertips and she ensures that we’re using our systems to their fullest potential. Most recently she is working to implement a new software program to help streamline royalty processing and reporting.
Ashlei Carroll – Amateur Licensing Manager, ORiGiN Theatrical
Ashlei has been a part of the ORiGiN team for the past seven years and manages the theatrical licensing division, with a focus on amateur musical licensing and supervising the licensing assistant. Ashlei handles all day-to-day running of the department, maintaining our website, and assisting in marketing. Ashlei is the go-to for any show that we represent in its expansive catalogue. Ashlei has an Advanced Diploma of Film & Media from AFTT (formerly International Film School Sydney).
Amber Quin – Communications Manager, ORiGiN Theatrical
Amber joined ORiGiN™ Theatrical in January 2014. She has a Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of Sydney and a Master of Strategic Marketing from the University of Wollongong in Dubai. Amber has worked in marketing and communications since 2006 with international experience working in London, Dubai and Sydney. Amber manages all things marketing including websites, social media, email, promotions and advertising. Amber’s skills also extend to design and typesetting – overseeing the printing and publishing of ORiGiN™ Theatrical plays and books published via our imprint brand ORiGiN™ IMPRiNT.
Raicheal Esam – Performing Rights Assistant, ORiGiN Theatrical
Raicheal joined ORiGiN™ in July 2025, bringing with her a strong background in customer service and administration, developed through roles in the entertainment, retail, and accounting industries. With experience managing client communication, coordinating events, and supporting busy teams, she brings a practical, detail-oriented approach to her work. Raicheal’s lifelong love of musical theatre and passion for the performing arts, combined with her skills in communication and problem-solving, makes her a vibrant addition to the team.
Ben Stewart – Freight and Logistics, ORiGiN Theatrical
Ben is an experienced warehouse manager in logistics and shipping and joined our team in 2024. He has studied music production at SAE Academy and looks after all our digital music files and Right On Cue Services orders for our customers.
Audrey Ormella – Classical Hire Librarian
Audrey is a young composer who joined the ORiGiN™ team in February 2025, and assists ensembles by booking and sending classical hire materials. As a composer Audrey has a keen eye for detail and is practiced in meeting tight deadlines! She brings a deep love of music to her role and enjoys studying and listening to scores as she sends them out. Audrey sings regularly in Sydney Philharmonia Choirs’ VOX and holds a Bachelor of Music (Composition) from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
Jorja Munday – Classical Hire Librarian
Jorja joined our team in 2024 and helps to quality check, stock-take and organize the storage of our classical hire material. With her experience as a session musician both in the classical and contemporary fields (holding a close relationship to the local Sydney band scene), Jorja brings a deep understanding of musical detail and contexts into her work. Jorja is currently studying a Bachelor in Contemporary Music Education at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, in which she's had much joy in performing some of our listed works.
