SHIRLEY - Aged late 50s. Completely over the top, brassy diva. Star of Wattle Street. Utterly ruthless, with a fake heart of gold -- but likeable.
BERYL - Totally humourless but devoted personal assistant to Shirley.
MERYL - Lead actress of Magenta Place aged 60+, who can be a bit bossy but not a diva like Shirley.
SASHA - Production Consultant. Aged 50+. Completely bonkers but very creative hippy. Totally obsessed with the world of television soaps.
PETER - Old school lead actor. Aged 60+. Plummy voice, sexist views, described as having "wandering hands."
ANGELA - Aged 30-40+. Slightly posh and jolly.
