The Ring of the Fettuccines (manuscript)

Conceived as a children's introduction to opera, this send up has proved irresistible to adults as well. It's a merry, light-hearted spoof of every far-fetched plot ever conceived, and it bounds along musically to an ingenious patchwork of stolen themes and melodies.

Conceived as a children's introduction to opera, this send up has proved irresistible to adults as well. It's a merry, light-hearted spoof of every far-fetched plot ever conceived, and it bounds along musically to an ingenious patchwork of stolen themes and melodies, including bits and pieces from Carmen, Tales of Hoffman, and Pagliacci.

This "Ring" has it all: an imposing King, a scheming sorceress, a perky page, a prince in love with a commoner and a cobbler in love with a princess. The singers pose, posture, swoon, and swagger in the grand operatic tradition with hilarious results.

Truly an opera not to be missed. It's a delightful musical pastiche with wonderful singing and top-flight clowning. It's Grand!
