Based on the life of John Chapman,
Johnny Appleseed chronicles Johnny's adventures back in the early 1800s as he travels through Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana unselfishly planting apple trees to feed the pioneers settling America's wilderness.
In a series of related vignettes we see Johnny and friends as children in a one-room schoolhouse where lessons are sternly taught by school marm Proctor who makes her point in the song "That Old-Time Discipline." Learn about friendships with Native Americans and meet the Worth family, from Fort Wayne, Indiana, who remained Johnny's lifelong friends.
An optional accompaniment CD is available for use with this show.
REVIEWS:
"Above all, the play sends a positive message about pursuing dreams and making a difference in the live of others. Not only did Johnny's seed produce fruit, but the fruit produced new seeds that carried on his work after he was gone."
