Adopting a Sherlock-Holmesian intuition, Lawrence divines that spinsterish Miss Peabody was propositioned by a man abroad a ferry, but in her passionate excitement she forgot his name and where they were to meet. Lawrence helps Miss Peabody recover her memory.
