Four out-of-condition, middle-aged businessmen sent off on a team-building exercise in the Lake District succeed in being the first people ever to be shipwrecked on an island on Derwentwater.

Bound in by fog, menaced by the wildlife and cut off from the world, this perfunctory middle-class exercise turns into a carnival of recrimination, French cricket and sausages. What should have been a bonding process for Gordon, Angus, Roy and Neville turns into a muddy, bloody fight for survival.

REVIEWS:

"Tim Firth's Neville's Island... is that rare event: a genuinely good new play... it's a comedic, adult Lord of the Flies..."

The Guardian

"Neville's Island... is a non-stop, whitewater deluge of comedy both sophisticated and slapstick... British playwright Firth takes a perfect premise and shoots it too the extreme, flipping his fish out of water, watching them flop around a bit, and then masterminding the inevitable feeding frenzy."

New Mexican

"Firth has an assured comic touch... But there are scenes of great dramatic suspense amid the laughter, and many poignant moments which reveal a writer or real compassion..."

Telegraph
