A tense and gripping drama, loaded with dark humour, about the price we pay for material possessions and the effect it has on those we love.

Eddie Carver is a self-made businessman. In stark contrast with his humble beginnings he now boasts a millionaire lifestyle: designer clothes, flashy cars, exotic holidays and exclusive country pursuits. Installed in their luxury home behind high walls and electric fences, his wife Pam and daughter Ruby want for nothing, and expect the best.

But one evening Eddie's behaviour becomes distinctly erratic. Have some dodgy business dealings come back to haunt him? Or is the real threat to the family's idyllic life already inside the perimeter?

Fiona Evans's play The Price of Everything was first staged at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough, in November 2010.
